Recently, the Administration undertook school-wide classroom visits to ensure understanding regarding the expectation regarding our school uniform. This opportunity also afforded us the opportunity to speak to students and whole classes about some questions they wanted to raise about the uniform and school spirit wear. There was an overwhelming request, supported by compelling arguments, made by students to have a separate opportunity apart from our monthly Civvies Day, to wear SJDB Spirit Wear.
Tomorrow, students will have the opportunity to participate in a “trial” Spirit Day. Tomorrow, with their school uniform pants, students can wear the following:
- 1. Class of ___________ t-shirts (provided to all Grade 9s on the first day of school)
- SDJB hoodies
- SJDB atheletic t-shirts and sweaters
- clubs and council t-shirts and sweaters
Tomorrow IS NOT a Civvies Day. If students do not wear SJDB spirit wear, they must come to school in their uniform. These expectations were shared over this morning’s announcements, distributed over our various social media platforms and emailed to students directly. We appreciate your support in encouraging cooperation with this initiative so that we can plan additional spirit days in the coming months. Thank you for your ongoing support of our school community.
